Baseline Report 2006
This report is the first stage of the Partnerships Queensland performance reporting. It will provide the baseline from which future progress in improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Queensland can be measured. Monitoring trends in key indicators of wellbeing is the first step in the process of developing targeted and prioritised programs and interventions to address disadvantage in any population.
Information used in the report has been collated from a wide variety of sources, primarily from administrative collections held by state government agencies, the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. The analysis and interpretation of the data have been undertaken by the Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships within the Department of Communities in close consultation with relevant government agencies to ensure robustness of the findings of the report.
As the first comprehensive profile of Indigenous Queenslanders, the Baseline Report provides a robust base for cross-government action that can result in sustainable change.
